If the student plans on taking the GET in the first semester itself, then registration for GET should be done online, while in India itself. Actually, registration can be done here in the US too, but usually students come to the country after the registration date has passed. If the student plans on taking the GET in the second semester, then the registration can be done here in the University, at the end of the first semester. The GET fee does NOT come together with the course fees. The GET fees have to be paid separately and also register for it separately. The fee for the exam is $50. The GET exam “hall ticket” or “admission ticket” can be asked to be mailed to the student’s department, or to someone in the US who the student knows. This ticket is very important and is needed for admission into the exam hall.
